- The ferry ride to each island is approximately 15-25 minutes.
- Your ticket is good for both islands and allows you to disembark and explore each island’s monuments and attractions.
- The ferry ride offers excellent views of the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island.
- For the best view of the Statue of Liberty on the way to Liberty Island from Manhattan, stand on the right side of the ferry. On the return trip, the left side offers the best views.
- When departing from New Jersey, the left side of the ferry offers the best view of the Statue of Liberty as you sail into New York Harbor, while you can see the Manhattan skyline on your right.
- Onboard facilities include indoor and outdoor seating, restrooms, and a snack kiosk.
- Be prepared for crowds, especially during peak season, which can lead to delays.
- All passengers must undergo an airport-style security screening before boarding.
- To make your experience smoother, travel light. Small purses, fanny packs, and camera bags are allowed.
- Large bags, backpacks, food, and drinks are not allowed inside the Statue of Liberty National Monument and must be stored in lockers for an additional charge.
- Drones are also not permitted inside the park.
- The very last departure from Battery Park only allows a visit to Liberty Island.
